It's kind of ridiculous how many people have these stupid names that they think will automatically make them pro. In any game i go in (especially SnD) I see endless names like "xXxQu1kscop3zzZz" or "ii rEaCtIoNzZ" or some dumb name like that, any of you notice that?

ill need help filling in the ???'s (Dr.NoN looking at you) but here is the config_mp broken down and explained as good as i can figure out
I hope this helps people with fps lag, high ping problems etc

one thing i found interesting is there is still a heap of dedicated server settings so maybe dedi servers coming one day?

What do you guys think Snipers should get in MW2. We all know scilencers are never going to happen this bipod idea i have seen is pretty nice. Maybe ways for snipers to get certin camos and suits like MW1 but alot more detailed. What are your ideas?

- Reduced bot memory time, this makes them less likely to get kills through walls.

- Bots now need to be closer than 10 metres before being able to see a non moving/firing enemy.

- 008p is compatible with 007p version custom waypoint mod.ff files, so they don't need to be rebuilt for 008p.


I'm looking forward to the release of MW2 and bringing the bots across.

"Homemade Crosshairs", The Dirty Secret!

Sort of like steriods.  It's something that not many people are willing to talk candidly about.  I have seen removable decal crosshairs available online and seen a few other tricks used to apply fixed crosshairs to the screen.  I use a simple fine tip, wet erase marker.

I know that many use this tactic but are unwilling to openly admit or talk about the topic.  I thought that I would just put it out there.

Apparently they are able to hack the server and send virus/trojans to people, in the process they run aimbot in the game, and send a non tagged member to the other team to TK.

quite a story those guys are.

This was the trojan they were trying to send;

So is this IW idea of a joke when iwnet is suppose to be hack free when yet its probably less secure then a Windows 98 system with no protection?

Dismemberment?

(Yes this is long for a forum post, but I had to make sure I got my point across)

Modern Warfare 2 is said to have a huge emphasis on realism, so I hear. So why is there no dismemberment? Granted there was one incident in COD4, aka the sniping mission, where the scene was scripted to have the dudes arm blow off no matter where you hit him. It was cool, but that was it. I would think that in modern warfare 2 Infinity Ward would perhaps add to this feature of dismemberment, but it has been said that the same level of violence that is in COD4 will be in MW2.

Now I know that World at War was made by Treyarch and that they were the ones that added the dismemberment feature, which actually sucked (shoot a guy in the head with a rocket and the lower portion of his body gets blown off). I also know that production for MW2 started right after COD4's release. However, I don't see why IW wouldn't have the ability to build upon this feature.

Some of you probably don't care about realism and believe that gore isn't needed to make a game more fun, but when I shoot a rocket at my enemy or throw a grenade between their feet, it bugs me that I don't see body parts flying. Call me sick and twisted, but when it comes to realism, the lack of dismemberment just ruins it.

In my opinion, I find the gameplay more varied when you can shoot off limbs. Why does it always have to be headshots that make you look cool? I believe that tearing a guy apart with a machine gun is just as thrilling.

What do you guy's think? Was Infinity Ward wrong for leaving out the bloody goodness?

This contains a small list of minor changes to MW2 that will improve the overall quality of play in the game, and the longevity of its lifespan for us hardcore fans that still play MW2 religiously.

 

Perk Changes

- Modify 'One Man Army' to no longer replenish explosives (Equipment like C4/Claymores is fine)

- Change 'Commando' from it's incredible lunge, to something else, maybe reduced explosive damage or something.

- Reduce the amount of + damage 'Stopping Power' supplies to make it more viable to switch between other teir 2 perks.

- Keep 'Danger Close' & 'One Man Army'

 

Weapon Changes

- Slightly buff damage to SMG's, excluding the UMP-45.

and now for the big one;

- Please remove the ease of 'Quickscoping'. Sure, some people love it, and sure, it's a large chunk of your fanbase that enjoy destroying the game with this terrible form of gameplay, but it really wrecks it for the rest of the players who want to play MW2 PROPERLY. We want to run around with our Akimbo Models, or our AK-47's, hell, some of us even enjoy running around with an AUG once in a while, but nothing is more aggravating then having a killstreak, and series of awesome skill-based events crushed by a player who thinks its 'skillful' to run around and one-shot people with little skill involved.

 

Titles and Emblem Changes

- Remove the spinning skull emblem, all it does is take away the prestige of going to effort to find an awesome title/emblem combination, and as we all know, it is only obtainable by hackers.

- Reduce the requirement on some of the challenges

  - 200 Enemy care packages for one of the emblems is ludacris

  - even the Sitrep Pro VI requirement of 750 devices being destroyed is kind of nuts.

 

Pre-Match Lobbies

- Add an option to chose previous, next or random map options!

 

Killstreaks

- Buff the overall performance of the Attack Helicopter

- Add 'directional' modifications to Harrier Airstrike placement

- Keep the Nuke @ 25kills, but have it NOT end the game.

- Reduce kills required to earn an EMP

 

Deathstreaks

- Oh dear god, please remove 'Painkiller' full stop.

 

Misc

- Add an option to reset stats/levels/ranks/prestiges.

- It's a big ask I know, but some form of Dedicated servers? (Or improved connection & hosting)

- Remove a large proportion of under-populated game modes to consolidate players to fewer game modes. This will improve finding lobbies and keeping players in a tight bundle.

 

I know this is a massive effort for you guys, and it will take away time that could be spent on new games, but if one of the few Game Dev Companies that work for Activision could do this, it would be outrageously apprecated!

I have the German version of Call of Duty, modern warfare 2.
I installed the game, and the Multiplayer Version works normal and good... without any problem.
But if i want to play the single-player, i klick on the symbol and  :  ERROR: could not find zone 'common.ff'

Anyone know of a nice fix for this?

Happens in my mod if i go between different servers (specifically with different maps). After a reconnect it is all good but quite annoying to reconnect.

Someone please enlighten me.  If you're trying to have the best possible playing experience in multiplayer, what's the most important?  Download speed, Upload Speed, or Ping?  Or is it a combination of all 3?
